A capstone is a self-led project, which helps the learners to culminate and reinforce his/her learning towards the end of the academic year. Capstone essentially requires learners to lead the inquiry about a topic of his/her interest, right from research to the end product, within a specified time limit. Learners then present their projects to an external jury, who grade them on a range of skills. These are based on the rubrics which will be shared with the learners.
The essence of Capstone is that the learner needs to plan and take responsibility for his/her work and present both the process and the outcome to a jury in order to secure desired grades. Learners need to record their step by step planning and execution in their student guide booklet which has been given to them today.
