GGIS hosted  Annual Sports day, SPORTZANIA 2019, on December 13 th and 14th on GGIS campus. This was not a typical sports day. This was unique as it was planned and executed by the Grade 6 students of the school. The event was not only a display on the ground but, celebrated sportsman spirit in class too by integrating sports in academics. The teachers and staff too were not left behind as they followed a rigorous weekly healthy-life-style challenge both in school and at home.

It all started with “Rite Purdue Pharma agrees to settle OxyContin opioid case with Oklahoma | Opioids crisis | The Guardian brands of steroids do anabolic steroids increase sex drive in females evren plastik ambalaj of Passage” for the Grade 6 students. ROP for Grade 6 this year is “Organising the School Sports Day”. GGIS had been having an Annual Day every year, but this year Sport Day replaced the Annual Event. The decision was taken by  Grade 6 in collaboration with the teachers and management.

After detailed discussion with Director and leaders of the school the purpose, theme and name were identified. The event’s purpose, “To Discover the Sports Leader in Me”, the theme “Diversity in GGIS”, and the name given was “Sportzania 2019”. The chosen theme celebrated diversity in sports, as represented by students of different nationalities. Students showcased presentations, illustrations, and writing about sports and sports personalities at a Gallery set up to display all the work is done in the classrooms to bring out the efforts put into, “Discovering the Sports Leader in Me”.

The event opened with the Country run, demonstrations, drills, national anthem followed MasterNi’s interaction with the audience.

We had an outstanding audience comprising of parents and families who encouraged and applauded the students for their performance, dedication, and commitment. Parents thoroughly enjoyed the obstacle path and the races that were conducted specially for them.

The highlight of the event was the victory march where students walked through the aisle and parents gave them a thundering round of applause standing on both the ends.

We could see the sports spirit come alive on both the days of Sportzania.
