From Play to Purpose: The Spaces that Shape GGIS
Gym
The GGIS gym is an indoor playground for our youngest learners, from Nursery to Grade 2. Featuring soft, squishy play areas and fun obstacles to climb over, the GGIS gym is designed to help kids grow strong and smart, rain or shine. Students work on their gross motor skills, learning to balance like tightrope walkers, move around without bumping into things, and tackle challenges they might have been scared of before. While having fun, they're also picking up important life skills. They figure out how to talk to their friends, work together to solve problems, and cheer each other on when things get tough.
Sports Court
Sports facilities serve as more than just spaces for physical activity. They are a cornerstone of a well-rounded educational experience and contribute school’s environment, influencing academic performance, social interactions, and overall student well-being. GGIS boasts an array of sports facilities including gym, basketball, volleyball, football and kabaddi.
Library
The school library, affectionately dubbed "Kamar-Taj" by students, stands as a testament to the power of imagination and learning. Kamar-Taj is more than just a repository of books. it's a vibrant hub of intellectual growth and creativity which serves as a meeting ground for like-minded individuals, nurturing great minds. The unique policy of students donating a book on their birthdays has created a diverse collection that reflects our community's literary tastes. This practice not only enriches the library but also instils a sense of ownership and contribution among the students. This Marvel-themed sanctuary embodies the school's commitment to fostering a love for reading.
Admin Lobby
Step into the lively admin lobby of GGIS, where your journey of discovery begins! The colorful space isn't just a waiting area; it's a window into the GGIS world. From curious kids, excited parents to aspiring educators, this lobby opens doors to endless possibilities.
Smart Classrooms
Our smart classrooms are powered by the perfect mix of passionate teaching and purposeful technology. Teachers at GGIS harness the power of gadgets to enhance the learning experience. In higher grades, students occasionally bring laptops when lesson plans call for it, fostering digital literacy and practical tech skills. However, we maintain a careful balance. Our non-negotiable rule limits screen time to a maximum of 20 minutes per day, ensuring technology remains a tool, not a crutch. At GGIS, we've made technology our ally in education. By embracing smart classroom practices, we're preparing our students not just for exams, but for a future where digital fluency is key.
Atrium
At the core of GGIS lies a spacious atrium, a versatile hub that is a melting pot of activities, interactions, and shared experiences. With its simple, open design, the atrium embodies GGIS's inclusive ethos. It organically draws in all stakeholders, from students and teachers to parents and visitors, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
Science Labs
We have three dedicated labs: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Each lab is well-equipped with essential instruments, ranging from specimens to light microscopes, prisms to oscilloscopes, and litmus paper to the strongest acids. We believe in experiential learning, and lab visits are an essential part of our timetable. Regular lab visits, guided by specialized lesson plans, foster curiosity and understanding of scientific concepts, ensuring a lasting interest in the sciences for students of all ages.
Pop-up Bazaar
At GGIS, we believe that entrepreneurship is a powerful tool for building confidence, resilience, and critical thinking skills. The Pop-Up Bazaar brings student entrepreneurship to life every week. Students from Grade 3 and beyond host various food and product stalls, showcasing their creativity, business acumen, and teamwork skills. They conceptualize, plan, and execute their business ideas, learning valuable lessons about risk-taking, problem-solving, and adaptability. This platform offers a unique opportunity for them to hone their marketing, finance, and communication abilities, setting the stage for future success.
